About: Karla and her sister Jocelyn were among the first children brought to La Ola upon being founded in 2010. They were brought to us after their mother was killed in a car accident and there was no one else to care for them. They are indigenous Nauhatl (Aztec) who were brought up speaking the ancient language and are the first known members of their family to graduate high school. Karla is in her final year of nursing school and will graduate in January 2020. Both Karla and her sister are an incredible testament to the kind opportunities we strive to provide our children. We are so proud of them!
